i'm not Harold Ford's biggest fan by any stretch of the imagination (socially conservative, fiscally liberal? yuk), but isn't it against the spirit of democracy to try and keep someone from running? if Gillibrand is the best candidate (she was never elected, so who the heck knows), she'll win the primary...
