Cool Quotes

Some thoughts...

...on the US obesity epidemic and health quick-fixes:
"This is my body, and I can do whatever I want to it. I can push it; Study it; Tweak it; Listen to it. Everybody wants to know what I am on. What am I on? I am on my bike busting my ass six hours a day; What are YOU on?" - Lance Armstrong

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that, my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it." - Dr. Adrian Rogers

  1. Some goodies from the Analects (rough translations):

    - on knowledge, the Master says,
"To know when you know and to know when you do not know--that is true knowledge"

    - on... tools, the Master says,
"The gentleman is not a tool."

You've got some nice ones there. I especially like the one by Jefferson. But Adrian Rogers, Trevor, honestly? The man believes that the Bible should be taken as literally true, word for word.

  3. I'm not vouching for the people who said them. I just think the quotes apply - not necessarily what they originally meant to apply them to.
